Formula 77L is a liquid chemical that neutralizes wastewater systems odors, improves settling, and enhances sludge digestion.  The product is effective against hydrogen sulfide, mercaptan and other volatile sulfur compounds. Formula 77L also reduces or eliminates the corrosion to equipment and infrastructure associated with excessive sulfides.  Formula 77L is a blend of extracts from organic materials.  The product does not add sludge to the wastestream.  Formula 77L contains a biological inhibitor, which retards the growth of desulfovibrio desulficans and other sulfur reducing bacteria.  It is these bacterium which are responsible for the production of H2S, H2S04, and mercaptan production in the collection systems.  In addition to the biological inhibitor, the product contains a reactive lignin fraction.  Each lignin molecule has up to 9 open bonding sites enabling the lignin to serve as a molecular sponge adsorbing and absorbing odorous compounds.  The lignin molecule has an enormous negative charge, which gives it a cation exchange capacity of up to 3000 moles per kilogram.  The negative charge, combined with the multiple bonding sites, makes the product effective at capturing odor causing sulfur compounds.  Once the lignin molecules bind up the sulfur compounds, they cannot be reduced back to H2S or mercaptan.  The resulting by-product is soluble and non-hazardous.

DIRECTIONS

Formula 77L can be used to control odors from sewage treatment plants, pulp and paper mills, and other industrial wastewater treatments systems.  In wastewater treatment plants, the product reacts with hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, and most organic acids to permanently neutralize the chemical and its odor.  In most cases the dose rate ranges between 5 to 30 PPM. Consult your sales representative for precise dosing.
